Saving Changes in SiteOwl Mobile and Working Offline

Saving Changes

When editing devices in SiteOwl Mobile, changes are automatically saved locally until you choose to Cancel or Save your work.
  • Clicking the Save button will sync your changes to the SiteOwl server, making them immediately available to users of the web app and DesignOwl.
  • A progress bar indicates that Syncing is underway.
  • Once completed, you can continue to make updates to Devices in the current Plan or switch to another Plan.

Pause Sync - Save Locally

If you don't want to Save yet, or you're unable to Save due to lack of internet connectivity, you can tap the Pause Sync button. Changes will then be stored locally until the next time you save.

green message will be displayed at the bottom right of your screen indicating there are Unsynced Changes.

Online and Offline Modes

At all times while using SiteOwl Mobile, the app displays your current connection status at the bottom left of the screen, indicating when you're Online or Offline.

Connection Status is ONLINE:

Connection Status is OFFLINE:

If you lose your internet connection (go offline) while editing a Plan, changes will still be saved locally and a red message will display at the bottom right of the screen indicating there are Unsynced Changes. This message will remain red until you're online.

Choose When to Sync

When you open a plan with unsynced changes, a message will display allowing you to Sync to Server or to Continue Offline

  • Sync to Server means the changes for that plan will be saved to the server.
  • Continue Offline will take you to the plan view and all new changes will be saved locally until you're online and choose to save.

Confirmation of Save

When you choose Sync to Server, you'll see a progress bar and a confirmation message.
